Yesterday concluded the first week of school for many families. I don’t know about you, but sending our girls back to school is always bittersweet...they’re growing up quickly!

The school districts of the 7th district are very close to my family's heart. Abigail and I are both Henrico County Public School alumni, my mother is a career teacher who taught in VA07’s Henrico and Orange County Public Schools, and now our daughters attend Henrico County schools as well.

In our family, we believe deeply in the value of public education. Most of our neighbors rely on public schools from kindergarten all the way through college. We must make sure these schools are well-funded, have the proper skills/career training, and have apprenticeship and vocational programs.

I am able to see first hand how dedicated Abigail is to supporting public schools here in Central Virginia. She’s always been a champion for public education and our schools are stronger with her in Congress.
