During the over two decades that I’ve served in the House of Representatives, I’ve been lucky to work with Democratic colleagues who believe, as I do, in our moral responsibility to deliver real results for working families across California and the nation.

So I’m writing to you today about one such colleague -- Gil Cisneros -- who exemplifies, day after day, what it means to never back down. Since his inauguration two years ago, Gil has proven himself a true ally in our fight for progress. From his work to expand access to affordable health care to seeking to lower the cost of prescription drugs and protect social safety nets -- like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security -- for our most vulnerable populations, Gil shows through his work that he is a real fighter on the issues that matter most.
