Hello John:

Thanks for so much for your interest in my Burdick for Congress campaign. I'm reaching out personally because our campaign has entered a great new phase. We spent the summer building our foundations, attracting interest from voters like yourself, and achieving good initial visibility. Now onto the next step: on Sept. 12, our signature drive begins to get on the ballot, and I need your help.

As you know, mine is a principled, voter-first candidacy. We’re trying to topple an incumbent with weak local support and positions out of step with most voters in our district. This includes on universal health care, comprehensive prescription drugs and campaign finance reform. But he does have a lot of big outside donor money. To beat this advantage, we just need strong voter involvement, and the signature drive is a prime time to share the campaign’s message and multiply our numbers for the big final push after the holidays. (Primary Day is March 3 and ballots are mailed out Feb. 3.)

I don't know where in California District 7 you live. (If you need to look up if your in the CA-7, click here.) But you can help get signatures within the district is several different ways. Just reply with your preferred way from the list below, and my campaign will assist with all details.

1.) Collect signatures in your neighborhood. Ask you friends and neighbors in California's 7th Congressional District to sign the ballot signature form; go door to door; or at the local grocery store. We will provide the signature forms, the campaign handouts and knock sheets (for those going door to door).

2.) Co-host with me a "Saturday morning coffee" in a local park. You pick the most convenient park in your part of Folsom and invite your circle. I will bring the coffee and invite likely local voters from our lists. At the park, we'll talk issues for an hour or so, collect signatures, and then go door to door with anyone who wants to join me.

We have 8 Saturday’s available through Nov. 6, when the signature drive ends. Let me know if you'd like to reserve a date. If we need more dates, we can look at Sundays and weekdays at a coffeehouse or elsewhere.

3.) Last, host a house party and get every one to sign the ballot signature form there. As always, I will happily attend and talk about the race/answer questions.

I am very appreciative of your support so far for Burdick for Congress. With your continued help, we have a very strong chance to make top two in the March 3 primary and then springboard to a general election victory. We just need to get on the ballot first. Please call me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Jeff Burdick
