There’s so much on the line, let’s get to work.

Indivisibles,

It’s a beautiful week to flip the senate: join us for our third Windivisible Week of Action!

We’re entering the most critical period of this election with a whole new set of challenges -- which is why we can’t afford to slow down. As if we needed another reason to stay vigilant, Trump and his enablers in the Senate are going forward with confirming a conservative to replace Justice Ginsburg on the Supreme Court with just 36 days before the election. It doesn’t matter that Amy Coney Barrett is the nominee, this whole process flies in the face of RBG’s wishes and the will of the American people. That’s why we’re mobilizing to remind our elected officials that, at the end of the day, we have the power to hold them accountable at the polls.

All week, Indivisibles will make calls, send texts, and write letters to make sure people are prepared and informed to cast their votes. We know voters will be paying attention this week -- between the fight for SCOTUS, news about Trump’s strategic tax avoidance, and the first presidential debate tomorrow -- so we’re ready to capture this energy to help drive voter turnout. If you’re ready to get involved in all our Windivisible actions this week, sign up for a phonebanking shift to start making calls and lean on other Indivisibles by joining an event (virtual or socially distanced) near you.

It’s a busy week, so let’s jump straight into your weekly to-dos:

 Your weekly to-dos

  1. Call your Senators and demand that they refuse to confirm any new Supreme Court Justices until we have a new president. Trump and Mitch McConnell didn’t miss a beat when they said they would rush to confirm Amy Coney Barrett -- we have no time to waste. We need to call every day until we win. Watch our Emergency National Activist Call to get some insight into our strategy for blocking her confirmation.
  2. Click here for all of the actions you can take right now to save SCOTUS. Find all the actions you can take right now here on our Save SCOTUS hub.
  3. Watch this video to learn how to get started with phonebanking. We recorded this training to help you navigate phonebanking so you can start making calls this week.
  4. Sign up for a Windivisible phonebanking shift before our National Phonebank Day of Action on Sunday, October 4. Phonebanking is the easier way to talk to voters in key states to make sure they know what’s at stake this election and how they can join our movement.
  5. Find more ways to make an impact on the outcome of the election by taking a look at this list of action items. We made this list when we still had 50 days to go before Election Day. Now, with just 36 days before November 3, make sure you and the people you care about are doing everything you can to send Trump and his friends in the Senate packing.

 2020 Update

Tomorrow night, Joe Biden will take the stage as the Democratic nominee for president in a head-to-head debate with Trump. We already know Trump will be lying and deflecting blame all night, which is why Biden needs our support more than ever. Trump might think he can keep busy hurling insults at Democrats, we’ll be listening closely to how he answers questions about his failed leadership on COVID-19, racial justice and the economy.

During the debate, Trump will say and do everything he can to try to distract us from his failures. He’ll spend time talking up how his Supreme Court nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, will overturn the Affordable Care Act, but will forget to mention that he has no plan to replace coverage for millions of Americans and their families during a pandemic. More likely than not, he will even use this opportunity to bash the legitimacy of our elections, all while sabotaging the Postal Service and lining the pockets of corporations who want to privatize it.

We’re asking you to take action this week because it’s critical for voters to know just how much is at stake in this election. We’re taking to social media to show our support for Biden before the debate by flooding Twitter from 5 pm to 8 pm ET -- use this form to join us on Twitter! Once you’ve tweeted, we encourage you to phonebank with friends or with other Indivisibles before and after the debate by joining any one of the over 280 events on our map. To keep up the fun, invite this same group to a virtual debate watch party tomorrow night at 9 pm ET with the Washington Post livestream open in one tab and Zoom in another!

Defend RBG's Legacy on the Supreme Court

We can’t let Trump build a decades-long ultra-conservative majority on the Supreme Court. So now we’re working nonstop to stop the Senate from confirming Amy Coney Barrett and to elect a president and senators who will protect the integrity of the judiciary.

We already needed to raise over $1.4 million to fund our election plans, and now we’re pouring resources into a historic Supreme Court battle: we added $285,000 to expand our peer-to-peer texting program, $65,000 in direct support to candidates, and an extra $20,000 spend on ads last week alone -- not to mention hundreds of hours of staff time. We rely on grassroots support to fund our work: donate $10 today to fund all the resources we need to win in November, protect the Supreme Court and democracy, and support all our work.

May Her Memory Be a Revolution

The last week has been an absolute whirlwind but we’re so inspired by how quickly Indivisibles jumped into action to honor RBG’s legacy. As we kick off our Week of Action, we’re motivated by the initiative of Indivisibles in Wisconsin, who not only made calls to help us beat Trump and Save SCOTUS but also found time to make some pretty effective signs. Thanks for everything you do, we're excited to see what you get up to this week. Let's get to work!

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
