Police used a battering ram and broke the door off its hinges as they entered Breonna Taylor’s apartment, shooting her at least five times. And yet not a single officer is charged in her death – just one officer faces charges of first-degree wanton endangerment of her neighbors. Nothing we can do will bring Breonna Taylor back, but we will not...we cannot...we refuse to rest until justice comes.
We remember these two powerful women, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Breonna Taylor, by rising up and pronouncing judgment on the sins of the U.S. Senate and the meanness, misery and mayhem Senator McConnell is unleashing on our nation. One woman died fighting for justice, the other died fighting for her life, and tomorrow we remember them by taking part in protest, massive organizing and forcing candidates to speak to the issues that matter most to us. .
One hundred national religious leaders will take to the street in front of the Supreme Court and lead a procession to the Senate offices to announce judgment on the Senate’s sins and you can join them online on Tuesday, September 29th at 12:00pm ET / 9:00am PT at fb.com/anewppc and www.poorpeoplescampaign.org/livestream. We will call on the nation to rise up like never before to vote to revive our democracy.
And then let’s hold their feet to the fire in Kentucky at the Senate Town Hall where both Senate candidates have been invited to speak directly to the issues and priorities of poor and low-income constituents and to take questions from Kentucky Poor People’s Campaign leaders. Join us Tuesday September 29th at 7:30pm ET/ 6:30pm CT at poorpeoplescampaign.org/livestream
Forward together, not one step back!
