Dear John,
We need your help to unlock a great opportunity!
NVFS have been invited by Gannett Foundation, publisher of USA Today, to participate in A Community Thrives, a crowdfunding challenge to raise money for our Immigrant Resiliency Fund. The campaign kicked off last Monday, and we’re off to a great start.
Here's where you come in: if we raise $6,000 by October 16th on the dedicated crowdfunding page, we will get the chance to apply for a $100,000 grant for our vital work with the immigrants in our community—trauma counseling, family reunification, job training, and more.
And, if we are one of the top two organizations with the most individual donors from today through next Sunday, we’ll automatically receive a bonus $3,000!
Simply put, if 150 of you can take five minutes right now and give at least $30, not only will you have given us the opportunity to apply for a significant grant, you will put us in an excellent position to receive an additional $3,000.
Your support of our Immigrant Resiliency Fund is so timely and vital—and very much appreciated. The Northern Virginia immigrant community faces significant challenges today including numerous shifting policies, attempts to limit access to asylum particularly for survivors of domestic violence, and most recently the disproportionate impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With your help, we can succeed in:
- Offering wraparound services designed to address the holistic needs of immigrants.
- Providing trauma recovery services and support for those who have experienced devastating violence.
- Helping families navigate the challenges of reunification after immigration-related separations.
- Teaching immigrant teens the skills necessary to thrive in their new communities.
- Leading development and training opportunities to the professionals who serve immigrant youth and families.
Thank you for joining us to ensure that our immigrant neighbors are given the services and resources needed to thrive in their new Northern Virginia home—and for helping us meet this challenge!
