I’m reaching out today to invite you to join 25,000 allies from Our Revolution and over 50 organizations on Wednesday, September 30th for an important organizing meeting where we will hear directly from Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator Jeff Merkley on why it’s so important to Fix the Senate.

Even if Democrats sweep the White House, Senate, and the House — just 41 Republican Senators can use arcane rules — like the McConnell veto — to block any critical piece of legislation we need to pass to get America back on a path to progress in January 2021.

That means it will be impossible to make progress on crucial issues like voting rights, systemic racism in policing, the climate crisis, workers rights, gun safety, immigration, healthcare, and jobs.

As a quick preview, here’s our PLAN TO WIN moving forward:

1. We must Dump Trump and Ditch Mitch by electing a Democratic Senate majority on November 3rd. If we win four Senate races, we can make this a reality.

2. We must create enormous grassroots pressure on Governor Gavin Newsom in California to nominate a progressive replacement for Kamala Harris, who understands that we must end the filibuster to effectively govern next year.

3. Mobilize in the states to put pressure on all Democratic Senators so they are prepared to act to end the filibuster when the new Senate meets January 3. The Democratic caucus meets right after the election to decide on whether or not to reform Senate rules. We need to be ready and organize now!

With so much at stake, we can’t afford to sit this fight out. Our first priority is defeating Trump and his cronies, but that won’t magically solve all our problems.

That’s why we are mobilizing now to ensure that Democrats are ready to fix the Senate right after the November election. Sign our Fix the Senate pledge now!
