That same day, Russia tested the targeting abilities of the Bal and Bastion mobile coastal missile systems. Also on Tuesday, the Iranian Armed Forces announced that Iran had transferred its technological defense knowledge and experience to Yemen. The IAF stated its reason for the military information exchange is to enable Yemen to manufacture its own missiles and drones. Also on Tuesday, commercial satellite imagery revealed a potential missile-related vehicle at the Mirim Parade Training Ground outside of Pyongyang, North Korea. The vehicle appears large enough to carry a North Korea ICBM and comes as the country prepares for its October 10 military parade. On Wednesday, during the joint "Slavic Brotherhood-2020" military exercise between Belarus and Russia, six TU-22 long-range supersonic bombers carried out a mock-target bombing. The aircraft flew from Shaikovka airfield over the territory of the Republic of Belarus and performed their exercise at the Ruzhansky training ground. Also on Wednesday, it was reported that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard force had flown a surveillance drone over the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier. The flyover, which took place the prior week, was revealed in a photo released by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. On Thursday, it was reported a test of the NASAMS air defense system earlier this month resulted in the system’s lowest ever successful intercept of a cruise missile target. The test took place at Santa Rosa Island off the coast of Florida and included operators from the Army 263rd AAMDC and 1-204 ADA. On Friday, the U.S. State Department approved the potential sale of 34 PAC-3 MSE interceptors and other system components to the Netherlands. Also on Friday, it was reported Turkey asked France to allow it to purchase the SAMP/T missile defense system. On Saturday, the U.S. Navy commissioned its newest Arleigh Burke destroyer, the USS Delbert D. Black (DDG 119) at Port Canaveral, Florida. The USS Delbert D. Black is the 68th Arleigh Burke to be delivered to the Navy and is equipped with the Aegis air and missile defense system. Also on Saturday, a U.S. diplomat stated the U.S. will support South Korea’s missile defense capabilities, but what will developed and deployed in South Korea was up to the South Korean government.
