Hello Friend,
This year has been full of ups and downs! We are living through an unprecedented pandemic, it is an election year, and it is all in the middle of the 2020 Census. The importance of the Census cannot be overstated. Education, voting, health care, and more depend on accurate state population counts.
Every 10 years, we do a Census that counts the population of each state. Nevada has grown a lot in the last 10 years. Just look at the expansions in Northern NV and Southern NV. It is natural that our population keeps growing but it is important that it is accurately reflected in the 2020 Census. For every person who fills out the Census, Nevada gets $20K in funding.
The 2020 Census is coming to a close so we are doing a live-stream to chat about the end of this process, the importance of the Census and more!
There are so many aspects of our state that are dependent on funding from the federal government which gets its information from Census data. Programs like Medicaid and Medicare depend on population based funding. Our education systems also rely heavily on the funding we receive based on the Census. Our public works projects that address roads, bridges, and highways also rely on funding from Census data.
We will discuss all of this and more during our live-stream on September 30th, 2020 at 5pm! The Census ends soon so this might be our final send off! Don’t miss this important chat!
Best,
