Sign up to tell National Grid what you think of their plan to raise our gas and electric rates in order to build methane gas pipelines, pay their executives million dollar salaries, and give their shareholders billions in profits each year.

It's unconscionable that National Grid is trying to get more money from their customers during the double crisis of COVID and the Climate Emergency, so we're asking you to sign up to make a statement at one of the virtual National Grid rate case Public Hearings Sept 30 - Oct 7. You don’t have to prepare anything complicated; short and sweet is fine. The Public Service Commission often limits testimony to 3 minutes. We have several ways to help you prepare a statement. Also, you don’t have to be in National Grid territory to sign up to speak.

The first step is to make sure you register with the PSC for the hearing you prefer.

To speak at the Sept 30 or Oct 1 Public Hearing, you must register with the PSC by 4:30pm Sept. 28 (today). To speak at the Oct 6 or Oct 7 Public Hearing you must register by 4:30pm October 5.

It can be a bit convoluted to register with the PSC to speak at a Public Hearing, so here is the step-by-step process:
1. Visit www.webex.com.
2. Click "Join" at the top right-hand corner of the screen. (You don’t need to have an account.)
3. Input the appropriate event number for the hearing in the space provided (don’t leave space between the digits):
173 059 8337 for the September 30th event
173 214 6179 for the October 7th event
(There are other days and times. All the event numbers are listed in this PSC press release.)
4. Where it says Event Status: Not Started (Register) click on Register.
5. Fill in the information requested.
6. Click on Submit.
7. Click on Done.

The PSC press release also says: "If you are having difficulty registering online, you can register by phone as well by calling 1-800-342-3330. Follow prompts to the appropriate hearing and provide the following information: first and last name, address, and phone number." (I just tried this, and it seems straightforward.)

To help you compose your statement, AGREE and allies have created a comprehensive Talking Points document.
We're also offering 2 training sessions:

Your participation is important for achieving a better outcome from this rate case for our wallets, our communities, and our planet. The PSC, Governor Cuomo, and National Grid need to know that customers - we, the people - are paying close attention! Please join us!

Please contact me if you have questions. Thank you!
