At the end of this email, I'm going to ask you to donate to my campaign. But first I want to tell you why I'm asking.

The truth is, I feel lucky every single day to serve the people of Virginia in the U.S. Senate, but there's still so much we need to do together, including expanding access to healthcare, securing our elections, and holding the Trump administration accountable.

But frankly, this re-election fight won't be an easy one. In 2014, I won by less than one percentage point, and back then there was no "Trump Victory Initiative" deploying Republican operatives across Virginia. The stakes are even higher this year because we know that Donald Trump sees Virginia as an important part of his path to re-election. That's why he's investing in the Commonwealth, and that's why I've been working hard to not just keep Virginia blue in 2020, but to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2019.
