President Barack Obama endorsed our campaign! I'm deeply humbled by and so very proud of this endorsement.

With the news of President Obama's endorsement -- and a poll showing us in a slight lead -- you can bet the GOP is firing up their super PAC money machines to swoop in and keep this seat red.

I always knew this race would be tight, but I also know we can win because of the fierceness of this strong grassroots team. So many issues are on the ballot in this election, including the healthcare of millions of our fellow Americans.

President Obama's signature piece of legislation was the Affordable Care Act, which has now brought healthcare coverage to over 23 million Americans, as well as protections for preexisting conditions. As a former ER doctor, I realize how transformational this has been for families all across our nation.

And it was the threat of repealing the ACA that prompted me to throw my hat in the ring. So, President Obama's support has poignant meaning for me and is reflective of the inspiration that pushes me every day to stay in this fight.

Let's flip this seat and take back our country, for all of us.
