California’s the 5th largest economy in the world, but has the highest poverty rate in our country. What’s the governor doing to help that? Killing the automotive industry. He recently signed an executive order banning the sale of gas-powered vehicles after 2035. This reckless abuse of power will only serve as a death blow for thousands of blue-collar jobs, further plunging the state into poverty as they struggle to make an economic comeback from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Beyond that, consumers are losing the freedom to CHOOSE which vehicle they prefer. In a capitalist society, people buy based on preferences and force companies to shift and supply what the public needs. The government doesn’t get to tell the people what they are and aren’t allowed to buy. This mandate by the tyrannical governor is quite literally not just a turn towards socialism, but a head-first dive into China-style communism.

We can’t let this continue, but these policies are exactly what liberals are pushing for across the country.

Sincerely,

Casey Dietrich
