It’s clear: Dedicated and principled leadership is now more important than ever.
If we’re going to overcome the monumental challenges that face us, including this health crisis, the economic crisis, and the systemic inequities in our country, we need leaders who are up to the task — leaders like Lizzie Fletcher.
The final quarterly FEC deadline of the entire election is coming up at the end of the month. This is a crucial time for campaigns, especially in competitive races like Lizzie’s. That’s why I wanted to speak to you directly today and ask you to make a contribution to Lizzie’s campaign.
Lizzie’s race is one of the most competitive and consequential in the entire country. Whoever wins in Texas’ 7th District could indicate which party will win control of the House as Lizzie’s district has been called a “bellwether for the nation.”
And I can’t stress this enough: We need to defend the House Majority this November.
Washington Republicans and outside groups recognize the importance of this race, too.
That’s why the largest GOP super PAC focused on taking back the House doubled its spending against Lizzie to more than $6 million and recently opened one of only 12 field offices in Lizzie’s district. And Ted Cruz and Charles Koch are pouring even more money into this race to secure an outcome in their favor.
If you are able, contribute before the FEC end-of-quarter deadline and help send Lizzie back to the House →
This is a must-win race, but it’s not just about winning — it’s about who we elect.
I’ve seen Lizzie in action, and she’s exactly who we need in the House. She’s advanced meaningful legislation to protect access to health care, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and provide crucial relief to Houstonians during the pandemic, including increasing production of PPE, expanding unemployment insurance, and providing resources for small businesses and hospitals.
We can’t afford to lose Lizzie’s strong and thoughtful leadership in the House. If you are able, please make a contribution before the FEC deadline at the end of the month.
Keep fighting,
Nancy Pelosi
