She's approaching the biggest deadline of her campaign yet.
 
 

Today, I’m going to ask you to chip in a few dollars to my friend Mikie Sherrill, but first let me tell you why.

I got to know Mikie when I was mayor of Newark and she worked in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Newark. I was proud to support Mikie on the campaign trail in 2018 and so were New Jersey voters. She flipped New Jersey’s 11th District for the first time in more than 30 years, capped by the biggest swing from red to blue in the country.

And now, I’m proud to support Mikie as she runs for re-election because I know she’s the champion New Jerseyans need in the House.

Mikie is approaching the biggest deadline of her campaign yet: The final FEC end-of-quarter deadline of the entire election. I want to make sure she heads into the final stretch of the election in the strongest position possible, and I hope you will pitch in -- if you are able, will you chip in to send Mikie back to Congress?

I get to see Mikie in action firsthand in Congress.

Together, Mikie and I have worked to combat homelessness during the pandemic and to institute police reforms that will rebuild trust between law enforcement and our communities. And it doesn’t stop there -- in the House, Mikie is fighting to:

  • Lower the cost of prescription drugs and expand access to health care
  • Institute universal background checks on all gun sales and make our communities safer
  • Secure funding for the Gateway Tunnel project so we can repair our infrastructure for New Jersey commuters

Mikie is a champion for New Jersey priorities in the House, but her opponent, Washington Republicans, and outside groups are working together to put a stop to all of the good work Mikie is doing for our state. It’s staggering -- a major GOP super PAC is spending $90 million to defeat Democrats like Mikie.

I know how tough it can be to build a campaign from the ground up, one person and one dollar at a time. It requires a wellspring of grassroots action.

And that’s why I’m reaching out to you today -- ballots are already being mailed out to New Jersey voters, and Mikie needs our grassroots support to make sure she can connect with as many voters as possible before they start voting. If you are in the position to give a few dollars today, please chip in to Mikie’s campaign before the FEC deadline.
