While the last few months have been challenging, heartbreaking, and downright exhausting--wherever you live--here in Michigan, we've seen what we can accomplish when we come together.

By working across the aisle, we scored some major wins for working families in this year's budget. On the federal level, I also sat down with Dr. Birx and urged her to create more support at the federal level to expand testing, ensure people wear masks, and support our frontline workers and small businesses, so we can get back to school and back to work.
We just announced a $5 billion investment in conjunction with Huntington Bank to support affordable housing, small businesses, community lending, and expand access to capital. We've provided assistance to Michiganders struggling to pay their utility bills due to the pandemic. We've launched a first-in-the-nation initiative offering two years of free college for our brave and indispensable frontline workers.
I'm also thrilled to share that Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist and I have formed a new Black Leadership Advisory Council--Michigan's first council to bring Black voices directly to state government.
This is what Democrats do. We understand facts and science. We fight for American workers. We want to build a more just, equitable, and sustainable nation. So we need to elect a heck of a lot more of them.
