This year, on September 21st, we’re not having a gala! Instead, we’re celebrating with a “Not a Red Gala." You can enjoy the night in your slippers, from the comfort of your own sofa – and still be there for children who need your support.
"Love this! I love a good gala as much as the next person, but I'm happy to donate knowing that even more of the money will be able to be put to good use!" — NOT A RED GALA DONOR
★
"I’m disappointed that I won’t be putting on a suit and driving in heavy traffic to an unfamiliar destination, but I’m thrilled that 100% of this year’s contribution will go to support Love146 programs." — PRIOR ATTENDEE
★
"EXCELLENT IDEA!! I am far more inclined to donate knowing the money is not going to what is not important!!!" — VIA SOCIAL MEDIA
★
"That’s pretty cool. And I understand, so high-five! I look forward to the return of the Red Gala! Party with a purpose is needed too!" — PRIOR ATTENDEE
Instead of buying a ticket and shopping for a new outfit, would you donate so that children get the care they need and deserve?
😞 I look forward to The Red Gala. What happened? We don’t want to sugar coat this: It takes a lot of staff time and resources to make our galas memorable, and we needed a break. Also, the introverts.
😐 What about the introverts? Well, chit-chatting at big events and rooms full of hundreds of people isn’t their thing. We wanted to do something for them for a change.
😌 As an introvert, this is the best news I’ve heard all year! Even if you’re not holding a real gala, can I still contribute? Yes! And because we’re not spending money on things like decorations, feeding our guests, and hosting a cocktail hour, 100% of your donation will support our work!
😓 But I’m gonna miss getting a dose of that special Love146 hopefulness up close. Does this mean there won’t be any more of your inspiring Red Galas???? To tell the truth, we miss them, too. We’re already planning our next one — a REAL one — in Houston on May 2, 2020. Be sure to check your email for details after the New Year.
Founded in 2002, Love146 is working to end child trafficking and exploitation through survivor care and prevention. Our programs in The US, the UK, the Philippines and parts of Africa have reached over 55,000 children. The trafficking and exploitation of children is one of the darkest stories and most severe human rights abuses imaginable. But for many, the hope of ending it is a reality. Love146 is helping grow the movement to end child trafficking while providing effective, thoughtful solutions. We believe in the power of love and its ability to effect sustainable change. Love is the foundation of our motivation.
