Thank you to everyone who participated in our endorsements meeting today! We know that as the date of the general election gets closer (November 3rd, with ballots being mailed out October 16), the news cycle really ramps up. Take care of yourself and your mental health!

At the bottom of today's mailing, there are multitudes of opportunities to get involved. Whether you have the energy to do this only once or whether you find yourself doing this every week or every day, your work is what makes this happen! So, thank you!
The King County Young Democrats have a tradition of supporting the people and causes we truly believe will make a difference in this world. That is why at our meeting earlier today we made the decision to endorse the following people and campaigns:
* Katie Young (D) - House of Representatives 31st LD Pos. 1
* Thomas R. Clark (D) - House of Representatives 31st LD Pos. 2
* Kathryn Lewandowsky (Progressive) - Senate 39th LD
* Claus Joens (D) - House of Representatives 39th LD Pos. 1
* Ryan Johnson (D) - House of Representatives 39th LD Pos. 2
* Approve on Referendum 90
* Maintain on State Advisory Votes 32, 33, 34, and 35
* Yes on Seattle Proposition 1
* State Measures - Engrossed Senate Joint Resolution No. 8212
* King County Charter Amendment 1
* King County Charter Amendment 2
* King County Charter Amendment 3
* King County Charter Amendment 4
* King County Charter Amendment 5
* King County Charter Amendment 6
* King County Charter Amendment 7
* King County Proposition 1 - Harborview Medical Safety and Improvement Bonds
* City of Kirkland - Prop 1
* Highline School District - Prop 1

These affirmative votes join our endorsements from the primary ([link removed]) , where 97.75% of our endorsed candidates made it through to the general.

** Phonebanks
------------------------------------------------------------
One of the best cures for feeling down about politics is doing something about politics. Help us call new and sporadic voters in South King County, where we can affect really important races up and down the ballot.
DATE:
TOMORROW, Monday, September 28
(this is the last one in September! If you've been putting this off, this is a great time to join in!)
TIME:
5:00p - 8:00p
This event will be three hours long, but there's no need to stay for all three hours. Feel free to drop in and pop out at any time.

Flip the West ([link removed]) is holding a Day of Action on October 4th to do a push to try and flip specific Senate seats to ensure that we have a Democratic Senate. If you're interested in doing outreach to vulnerable Senate seats across the country, this is the perfect phonebanking opportunity for you.

Another organization targeting key national states is Swing Left. They have a ton ([link removed]) of ([link removed]) resources ([link removed]) and information about the races and candidates they're targeting. And when you've read through all of that and how important each race is, sign up for a shift!

** Textbanks

"I want to help but I hate talking to people." No worries, we got you covered. OpenProgress ([link removed]) is holding a bunch of textbanks where you can do outreach without having to actually talk to people. Technically, you don't even use a phone - this campaign works entirely from a web-browser-based platform.

The Young Democrats of America and the Women's March Action Campaign ([link removed]) are teaming up to text 18-35 year old voters in the key battleground states to make sure that these often uncontacted voters make a plan to vote and turn in their ballots!

** Letter-writing Campaigns
------------------------------------------------------------
"I want to help but I hate [DEL: talking to :DEL] people." I hear you. People suck. But there're still opportunities for you! Vote Forward lets you do contact-less outreach by writing letters to voters and encouraging them to vote. You will need your own envelopes and stamps ([link removed]) .
