Fundraisers (and Fluff-raisers!)

Hi, Sister District DC/MD/VA Volunteers!

As we get closer to November 3rd, we have a some final fundraising opportunities coming up in the next couple of weeks---we hope you'll join us! As we've said before, states are our last line of defense for women’s rights, worker’s rights, LGBTQ rights, and healthcare access, just to name a few, so if you can, please donate to help turn Pennsylvania--a crucial presidential battleground state---blue up and down the ballot.

We have less than 40 days to go

The Final Push in PA: On September 30 at 7:30 PM, join us for an exciting evening with SDP Founder and Executive Director Rita Bosworth, along with moderator Chris Hurst, SD-backed member of the Virginia House of Delegates, and PA state legislature candidates Deb Ciamacca (also Chris’ high school Social Studies teacher) and Jonathan Kassa. They’ll discuss what we can do in these next few weeks to ensure a victory up and down the ballot in November! The evening is brought to you by Sister District Bronx/Westchester, Brooklyn, DC-VA, Fairfield County, and New Jersey.

Can't Make it?

Sister District DC/MD/VA will be hosting our first "fluff-raiser" on Thursday, October 8th. What's a fluff-raiser" you ask? Well, we're going to show you our pets! Live. Real time. (Well, most of them, anyway. Some are camera-shy and had to be taped.) Cute animals are the best part of the internet after all, and all proceeds will go to Jonathan and Deb.

We’ve scheduled four dogs, four cats, a sugar glider, a horse, a passel of foster kittens, and a plant. Yes, a plant. A very photogenic plant. And you'll get to meet Jonathan Kassa's dog! Our chapter has raised over $20,000 for our candidates this year, and we are so grateful to everyone who has donated--we know times are hard!

You can also join a phonebank! We're making calls for our Pennsylvania candidates to turn out voters up and down the ballot every Wednesday from 6:30pm-8pm ET and Saturday from 11am-12:30pm ET. Every call counts, and we're aiming to surpass our goal of 8,500 dials in order to make contact with as many voters as possible--we're already past 7,000!
