I've been working hard to protect our democracy during this very challenging year. The pandemic demands maximum effort and care in administering an election. A few days ago, my office took a significant step toward making the 2020 election as safe as possible. We sent out absentee ballot applications to 2.3 million registered voters across the state who had not yet requested a ballot. The mailing ensures that every registered voter in Minnesota will have the opportunity to vote from home, which protects people who choose that option - and helps to make our polling places safer for voters who show up on election day.
