John,

For years on end, the GOP has made dozens of attempts to repeal our nation’s health care law, the Affordable Care Act, in Congress and the courts. Doing so would rip protections away from the millions of Americans who have pre-existing conditions, and make health care coverage unaffordable or inaccessible for millions more.

My opponent Jaime Herrera Beutler has bragged about voting over 80 times to repeal the ACA, even supporting a lawsuit to do so in the middle of a public health crisis.

So far, Republicans’ attacks on the ACA have failed miserably — but their next chance to succeed is coming just one week after Election Day.

That’s right: Seven days after the election, the Supreme Court will begin hearing arguments in this Administration’s lawsuit to overturn our nation’s health care law, while Americans continue to suffer from the COVID-19 pandemic.

With President Trump’s announcement of a far-right Supreme Court nominee yesterday, just over one week after Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s passing, the risk of them succeeding at repealing the ACA grows even greater.

John, this is why we need more leaders in Congress willing to defend our care — not someone like Jaime Herrera Beutler who talks about protecting Southwest Washingtonians but in reality votes to rip away their health care coverage time and again.

I guarantee if I’m elected to represent you in Congress this November, I will give it my all to not only defend — but improve — our health care system, so each and every person can access and afford the care they need.

With just three days until our final and most important FEC fundraising deadline of this campaign, and with health care for millions of people at risk like never before, will you make a grassroots contribution of $10 or anything you can afford to help us win and save our care?

I refuse to sit on the sidelines and watch politicians in the pockets of the health insurance companies and corporate lobbyists continue to do everything in their power to rip health care coverage and protections away from Southwest Washingtonians.

That’s why it’s imperative we hit our goal this Wednesday and have the resources necessary to give it our all this October and win on November 3. There’s no time to waste.

Thank you for standing by me,

Carolyn
