John,
When you all helped me get elected to Congress, there were only 54 women in Congress out of the 535 members -- even though we made up over 50% of the U.S. population. I knew from the start that I needed to dedicate myself to standing up for women every chance that I got.
I’ve sponsored and voted for legislation to close the gender pay gap, strengthen reproductive freedoms for women, fought to stop violence against women and so much more.
Now, even with more than a 100 women in the House, we’re still facing opposition from the GOP for basic human rights. At this time, Republicans refuse to remove the ratification deadline on the Equal Rights Amendment.
The Equal Rights Amendment protects women from discrimination on the basis of sex in the Constitution, but Republicans want to let that protection expire.
Our petition ends on Wednesday and we need 3,000 more signatures to send a strong message to Congress that Americans want women to be protected from discrimination by the constitution. Can I count on you to add your name and support the Equal Rights Amendment? SIGN NOW >>

Thanks for taking action,
Carolyn
