It’s official, Trump has just nominated Amy Coney Barrett to fill Justice Ginsburg’s Supreme Court seat.
We’ve known for a long time that Trump favors right-wing judges with extreme views on the Second Amendment, and Amy Coney Barrett is no exception. The NRA loves her.
She wrote a dissent where she made it clear she thinks some people convicted of felonies should be allowed to keep their guns.
This nomination poses a real risk to the progress we’ve made and is a clear sign that the gun lobby still has sway over far too many politicians in Congress.
The stakes are now higher than they’ve ever been, but we’re not giving up. We are working night and day to defend the progress we’ve made, and if you’re with us we will continue to protect the safety of all Americans.

It’s unsurprising that Trump is selecting judges with alarming Second Amendment views.
He’s made it clear that he can be bought by the highest bidder, and the NRA won that title when they spent $35 million to help elect him.
We now must do everything in our power to block this nominee and protect the progress we’ve made on making our communities safer from gun violence.
