Friend,
Well, it’s that time of year again -- it’s
back-to-school season! And when Betty and I sent our boys off to
school last week, it got me thinking back to my time in school. My
favorite classes were Government and Civics, and these days I think we
could all use a civics lesson. Especially Donald
Trump.
So here’s a back-to-school civics pop-quiz: Will you
score higher than he can?
Question 1: Current
Events - True or False: Official projections showed that
Hurricane Dorian would not hit Alabama. a) True b)
False
If you answered True, congratulations: You’re already
scoring higher than the President! Donate
to my re-election today and support leaders who are capable of reading
a map.
Question 2: News Media
Literacy - True or False: Media stories critical of the Trump
Administration must be fake. a) True b)
False
If you answered False, you’re right! Trump has repeatedly
gotten this one wrong. Will
you chip in $200, $100, or $50 today
to help me defend against the “Fake News”
President?
Question 3:
Understanding our Democratic Processes - True or False:
“Voter fraud” is a myth that has widely been disproven. Millions of
people did not improperly vote in 2016. a) True b)
False
If you answered True, that’s 3/3! You passed, but Trump
would have failed miserably. Donate $200, $100, or $50 today,
and maybe we’ll be able to teach this President a thing or two about
civics.
Best, Ted
