Eagle Forum celebrates President Trump’s nomination of judge and former law professor Amy Coney Barrett to fill the vacancy left by the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
“Judge Barrett is the ultimate role model for women,” said Eagle Forum President Colleen Holcomb. “She has achieved excellence in her career as an attorney, law professor and judge, is mother to seven children, and is respected by her students and colleagues across the political spectrum for her excellence, strength of character and compassion.”
In addition to Judge Barrett’s remarkable background and reputation, she fulfills Eagle Forum‘s highest priority requirement for a Supreme Court Justice: She has an extensive body of jurisprudence evidencing a proven track record of strict textualism and respect for the Constitution. “Judge Barrett is a known entity that we can count on Judge Barrett to protect and uphold the Constitution,” said Holcomb. “The facts that she is also known for showing care and compassion, for being a loving mother of seven children, including two children adopted from Haiti and one child with Downs Syndrome, are added bonuses that serve her well on the bench and broaden her appeal as an inspiration and role model.”
“We urge everyone to call your Senators beginning Monday morning to demand that those on the Judiciary Committee treat Judge Barrett with fairness and respect, and urge all Senators to vote “YES” vote on Judge Amy Coney Barrett to ensure an intact Supreme Court going into the November 3rd election,” Holcomb concluded.
