OUR COUNTRY IS AT A CROSSROADS. We are living through one of the most complicated and perilous periods in our history, and I fear for what could happen if we do not elect strong, competent leaders nationally and locally this November.

ONE LEADER WHOM I KNOW AND TRUST TO LEAD US THROUGH THESE CHALLENGING TIMES IS MY FRIEND, ABIGAIL SPANBERGER. I have worked with her closely and watched her in action. She is a remarkable candidate with deep knowledge of and experience in national security.

Throughout her career, Abigail has demonstrated courage and passion for her country, visible from her time serving as a law enforcement officer to her time in the CIA. She carries this passion and courage as she serves Virginia’s seventh district in Congress.

WHAT I ADMIRE MOST ABOUT ABIGAIL IS HER ABILITY TO TRANSLATE HER EXPERIENCE AS A NATIONAL SECURITY PROFESSIONAL TO HER WORK IN CONGRESS. Every day in office, she fights to protect the most vulnerable in our society: the poor, elderly, and sick. She understands how domestic and foreign policy must work together, the importance of America being strong and healthy, and America’s position in the world.

OUR COUNTRY IS CURRENTLY BEING TESTED; leaders are sowing division, campaigning on hatred and bigotry, and putting Americans at risk every single day. This election will give us the opportunity to correct the course of our country, but only if we meet our responsibilities as citizens.

Democracy is not a spectator sport. I have seen firsthand the consequences that come if people view it as one. We all need to do what we can to ensure that our democracy works and that it works for everyone.
