Donald Trump just nominated far-right Amy Coney Barrett to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg's Supreme Court seat - and now, Mitch McConnell will bring a vote to the Senate floor in the coming weeks.

If confirmed, Republicans would have a Supreme Court with the ability to strip away affordable health care for millions of Americans, gut voting rights and restrict reproductive freedoms. Supreme Court justices serve for life, John - and the effects of this confirmation will be felt for generations to come.

But McConnell and Trump are ramming through this process 38 days from the election, when Americans are already mailing in their ballots. They're prioritizing partisanship as the total number of COVID-19 cases rises every day, and countless working families are asking for economic relief and relying on the Affordable Care Act to stay healthy during the pandemic.

And on November 10, just one short week after the election, the Supreme Court is hearing oral arguments on the GOP's reckless lawsuit that would effectively overturn the Affordable Care Act and gut protections for those with preexisting conditions. Make no mistake, the future of health care is at stake in this election.

Nevadans and the American people should have their say in which justice is selected by voting for the next president.
