“We’re not going to nominate a Supreme Court justice until the people have spoken.”Thom Tillis, 2016

Thom Tillis is singing a different tune nowadays, Brandt. He’s abandoning those principles and caving to his party again, even though folks are already voting in North Carolina. The hypocrisy is clear.

We need to win this race so Democrats can take back the Senate and end Mitch McConnell’s destructive reign. Please, donate $10 or more to help us win this competitive race and get our country back on track.

Look, I believe we need to hear directly from the people before confirming the next Supreme Court justice. And then the next Senate and the next President should take up the very consequential issue of a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land.

As usual, Tillis is touting his party's line. Within hours of Justice Ginsburg’s passing, Tillis not only called for an immediate vote but said that he would vote for whomever the President sent to the Judiciary Committee and to the Senate.

A U.S. Senator is meant to serve as a check and balance on the President of the United States. Instead of fulfilling his constitutional duty, Tillis has just written a blank check to this administration. Anything Trump wants, Tillis will deliver.

Rushing an appointment — succumbing to petty politics — is just wrong.

A lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court has the potential to impact our country for decades — long after Mitch McConnell and Thom Tillis are out of office. This is a moment to respect precedent and ensure the American people are heard.

We need to put partisanship aside and our country first. I’m asking you to add a donation to our campaign for U.S. Senate to give North Carolinians the bold, independent leadership they deserve:

North Carolinians are proudly independent and deserve a Senator who reflects that.

Now more than ever, we need to take back this U.S. Senate seat and replace Tillis with someone who will stand up for the people of North Carolina.

I know it's been a tough few weeks, but hang in there. We're so close.
