Donald Trump just nominated anti-choice extremist Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.

It’s our job to stop Barrett’s confirmation, John. Because lives are on the line. The Supreme Court is the last line of defense for reproductive freedom, voting rights, LGBTQ+ rights, access to healthcare, and so much more.

With Mitch McConnell leading this attack on our democracy, your senators need to hear from you right now: Demand that there’s no consideration of a new Supreme Court nominee until after Inauguration Day.

Few Senate votes have higher stakes than the confirmation of a Supreme Court nominee. With a lifetime appointment, a single justice can dramatically reshape our most fundamental rights — allowing the tyranny of an anti-choice minority to shape our laws for decades to come.

Remember: Trump has vowed to use opposition to Roe as a litmus test for his Court nominees. And Amy Coney Barrett fits the bill — she has an alarmingly extreme record against reproductive freedom. She has:

• Voiced her contempt of Roe v. Wade and referred to Roe as an “erroneous decision.”¹
• Openly hypothesized about "the day after Roe fell" and stated that "the states and Congress would be free to ban, protect, or regulate abortion as they saw fit.”²
• Sharply criticized and spread disinformation about the Affordable Care Act’s birth control benefit.³

With Amy Coney Barrett on the bench, a supermajority of conservatives on the Supreme Court would dismantle reproductive freedom, from decimating access to birth control to ending legal abortion. They will strip away healthcare from millions of people. They will determine whether businesses or employers can discriminate against LGBTQ+ folks. They will have a say in whether we treat immigrants and asylum seekers with dignity and compassion. And they’ll likely rule on who gets to vote in our elections free from Republican voter suppression tactics.

We cannot allow Trump and his cronies in the Senate to install another justice when people across the country are already voting for the next president. It’s easy to feel hopeless right now, John. But we have to remember that when we come together, we can accomplish what seems impossible.
