A recent 2020 analysis by the Institute for Women’s Policy Research finds that “Social Security remains the largest source of income for older Americans” and that the program is “especially vital to women and people of color.”

That’s why it’s especially abhorrent that Donald Trump has chosen to delay funding for Social Security until at least the end of the year.

By deferring payroll taxes (a change the president has said he’ll make permanent if re-elected), Donald Trump has set the Social Security trust fund on a course for bankruptcy by 2026.
