Friend:
September has finally arrived! What better time than back-to-school season to announce the winners of AU’s annual essay contest for high school students.
Need a lift because it’s hard to say goodbye to summer?
Keep scrolling (or click right here) to read their inspiring winning essays!
Our three finalists wrote thoughtful, powerful essays about the unprecedented responsibility of their generation to defend religious freedom. I was deeply encouraged by their understanding of the importance of separating religion and government and how crucial it is to everyone from religious minorities to LGBTQ people to women.
At AU, we realize that preserving church-state separation is an intergenerational endeavor. That’s why we are committing ourselves to bringing more young people and students into our movement.
What can you do to help reach the next generation of leaders? How about buying an AU membership for your kid or grandkid? I’ve heard it’s fun and “retro” (in a good way!) to get our Church & State magazine each month.
Thanks for your unwavering commitment to Americans United and freedom of conscience for all!
With hope and determination,
