Congratulations to Derek and his '99 Mustang for winning the Mayor's Choice Award at the Rotary Club of Manchester's Cruising Downtown car show. Derek specially built this car for his brother who is a quadriplegic, with special controls and a trailer. Downtown was filled with around 1,000 amazing cars last Saturday. Thanks to Art who let me sit in '57 Bel Air, which he has owned since he was 21!

Out canvassing and happened upon a lemonade stand. They’re raising money for college and toys (love the honesty). It was delicious!

A back to school tradition — my daughter Kathryn and our next door neighbors Katie and Will in the first day of school picture. On Wednesday, Kat and Will entered their sophomore year at Central, and Katie started her first day as a senior.
I also had a great time welcoming students back to school on Wednesday! Thank you to all of the Manchester School District teachers, staff and parents who worked to make today special for students.

Free MTA bus service for city high school students
The initiative was announced during Mayor Joyce Craig’s February State of the City address, prompted by a question from a parent who wanted to know why high schoolers had to pay to ride a city bus to school.
