Friend,

What happened in Kentucky this week was a miscarriage of justice. The only thing the police officers were indicted for was shooting through a wall. There were no charges having to do with the murder of Breonna Taylor.

Our code of laws should not place more value on apartment walls than Black lives.

What's clear is that we need to change this system -- and the House of Representatives has already acted.

The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act would ban no-knock warrants for drugs but it'd also go further by changing the standards necessary to prosecute officers that murder people.

This bill is sitting in the Senate right now, waiting for action. We need to send a message that we cannot afford to wait any longer.

I hope you join me in adding your name to our petition calling on immediate action to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.
