BREAKING NEWS: Donald Trump is going to nominate Amy Coney Barrett to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg's seat, and she's a nightmare for women's rights and civil rights.

Barrett was rubber-stamped by the extremist Federalist society, favors reproductive restrictions straight out of The Handmaid's Tale, and has even implied that Brown v. Board of Education was ruled incorrectly.(1,2)

Multiple polls have come out showing that majorities of voters oppose letting Trump replace Justice Ginsburg.(3) We need Senate Judiciary ranking member Dianne Feinstein to hold strong for all of us who are counting on her to stop Trump’s nominee, but so far, she hasn’t stepped up.

If McConnell and Trump have their way, a sharply right-wing 6–3 majority will govern the court for decades, dismantling Roe v. Wade, what’s left of the Voting Rights Act, the Affordable Care Act, civil rights for LGBTQ+ people, and more.

There's no question of how Barrett will perform as a justice, as she has written extensively against Roe v. Wade and birth control, and even tried to revive the doctrine of “separate but equal” that formed the legal basis of Jim Crow.(4)

Our best hope of stopping this disaster is for Senate Democrats to work to block every motion, every bill, every vote that comes up. But in the last week, Sen. Feinstein, who is on the Senate committee that is the first stop for Trump’s nominee, has voted in favor of three of Trump’s federal judicial nominees.(5) And she has refused to consider expanding the Court if Trump does get his confirmation, preferring to keep the rule in place that provides her with the most power, not the one that protects the American public.(6)

That's why we’re driving calls to Sen. Feinstein's offices across California and DC, demanding that she do everything possible to stop Trump from sealing a supermajority on the Supreme Court. To honor RBG's legacy, we must fight like hell to make sure Joe Biden -- not Donald Trump -- picks her replacement. Will you chip in?
