Dear friends and neighbors,

39 Days until Election Day

The 2020 election is just over a month away, and I'm committed to doing what I can to help common-sense, pragmatic leaders win up and down the ballot! I'm excited to vote for leaders like Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Tina Smith, but I'm also fired up to support some of my talented colleagues in the Minnesota House. This weekend, I hope you'll join me and volunteer to help re-elect some of these great Representatives!

Brad Tabke
Rep. Brad Tabke represents Shakopee and is the Vice Chair of the Transportation Committee. Brad is the former Mayor of Shakopee and needs our support re-election! Brad will be lit dropping tomorrow at 10am and phone banking with special guest Speaker Hortman Tuesday at 4:30pm.

Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn
One of the most competitive House districts is right next door in Eden Prairie! Rep. Carlie Kotyza-Witthuhn narrowly flipped this seat from red to blue in 2018, and we need to keep her in the House for the coming term. Carlie is the Vice Chair of the Early Childhood Committee and has been a champion for expanding access to early childhood education and health services. I'll be joining Carlie for a phone bank this Sunday at 2pm, and I hope you'll join me as well.

Voting Early and Absentee

Early voting has started in Minnesota! There are several different ways you can vote. Edina City Hall is open for socially-distant, in-person early voting every Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm. You can also vote by mail by requesting a ballot online. You can mail back your ballot by November 3rd OR drop off your completed ballot at Edina City Hall Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm. Finally, you can still vote in-person at your regular polling place on Election Day, but remember, you must wear a mask to enter your polling place.

If you aren't registered to vote, you can register online through October 13th OR register in-person at your polling place on Election Day.

Don't Forget about Edina City Council Elections!

There are so many important races on your ballot this year, so don't forget that change starts locally! Two seats on the Edina City Council are up for election this year. I am proud to endorse my friend James Pierce for Edina City Council. James and I worked together for several years when he chaired the City's Race and Equity Task Force. James was a bridge-builder and often took on tough topics and differing viewpoints with calm, and was able to find solutions to complicated issues presented. James is thoughtful and will listed to residents' concerns even if he may not agree with them, and work to bring people together to find solutions. Please cast your ballot for James! Together, we can do great things!

Sincerely,
P.S.  Please consider making a contribution today.  Any amount will make a difference!
