ABMS Goes to the Pacific in ‘Valiant Shield’

The Air Force’s third Advanced Battle Management System demonstration quietly unfolded Sept. 14-25 within the biennial “Valiant Shield” exercise spanning Hawaii, Guam, and the Mariana Islands Range Complex. About 11,000 service members, 100 aircraft, and several ships participated. It’s the second ABMS exercise this month, following a homeland defense training event in early September that practiced shooting down a cruise missile surrogate.
