Go Geary!

Don't Let Transit Disappear

Another Win: Real Signage!

Big Win for Geary Riders! Make Sure It's Not Delayed

At yesterday's hearing for the Geary Temporary Emergency Transit Lanes (TETL) project, 30 people spoke up in support of the transit-only lanes - THANK YOU!! This is how we win the transit we want and need!

Unfortunately, all of these crucial emergency pilot projects are on hold because two people filed appeals of SFMTA's emergency response projects. These appeals then cost hundreds of hours in staff time to respond, wasting resources and delaying the benefits these projects bring to hundreds of thousands of riders.

The Board of Supervisors is hearing these appeals this Tuesday, September 29. So now our Board of Supervisors need to hear from us: Riders need the benefits of these improvements, and the appeals should be rejected.

Don't Let Muni and Bay Area Transit Disappear

Most public transit systems in the U.S. never fully recovered from the last recession, and Muni is no exception. Continued underinvestment in maintenance, in updating and upgrading equipment and systems, and in developing a strong pipeline for the talent we need to operate it all means that Muni was already vulnerable when the current crisis hit.

We regularly hear from people who have been left behind by the current service cuts. Free Muni for our low-income disabled seniors doesn't help when the bus isn't there anymore. We need to restore service, and we need to keep it growing!

This November, you can make a huge difference for funding for Muni and all Bay Area transit.

  • Vote YES on Prop 15. This will raise needed funds for county services like schools and firefighters. Because San Francisco County also funds Muni, it also means significant new funding for Muni service.
  • Vote YES on RR. As an essential part of Bay Area transit, we can't let Caltrain risk a shutdown. Measure RR will not only save Caltrain, it will also provide funding for Caltrain's equitable fare and increased service plans, and will make funds more available for Muni, SamTrans, and VTA.

Are you part of a club or organization that wants to hear more about why Meausure RR is so important? Let us know and we'll come to you.

NextMuni 2.0 - Another Win!

Thanks to all of you who wrote in - starting last year - the NextMuni 2.0 project has been approved!

SFMTA listened to us about the need for double-sided signage, so we've secured them as a priority. As the project moves forward, SFMTA will be looking for our input on sign locations as well as what information is displayed and how. This image is a draft display - stay tuned for opportunities to share your feedback to make it as informative and easy-to-read as possible.
