This week, students in NYC returned to school. Next week, I'll be joining my Democratic colleagues as we return to Washington. While our next generation of leaders are gaining the knowledge they'll need to move our country forward in the future, current elected officials are going to be fighting to make sure that future is there to begin with.



For too long, oil companies, climate change deniers, and special interests have had too much influence over our environmental policy. That has to change. From fighting for a Green New Deal to funding research into new forms of energy to getting us back into the Paris Climate Agreement, we need leaders who will work towards protecting the future for our students, not leaving them with even worse problems than we face now.

Trump and his allies in the GOP have made it clear that they still don't want to acknowledge the threat that climate change poses.
