Virtually join other performing arts and entertainment professionals to discuss the stress of change and the unknown during the COVID-19 pandemic. The eight-week group will be a way to connect with others in the community, reflect on the new normal and develop coping strategies. Topics of discussion include handling uncertainty, dealing with loss, managing relationships and loneliness, finding ways to cope, and navigating hope and resilience. This supportive space will allow you to share with and learn from others as we move through this wave of change together.

** The Career Center

The Career Center offers a comprehensive suite of online programs and services that help entertainment industry and performing arts professionals to identify and find sideline work and discover new careers outside the industry.

Get started by attending The Career Center Orientation (afternoon ([link removed][UNIQID]) or evening ([link removed][UNIQID]) ) to enroll in the career services offered.

** Health & Health Insurance

The Actors Fund offers personalized health insurance counseling and enrollment support, referrals to health care resources, and seminars on how to care for yourself.

The Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts ([link removed][UNIQID]) , our primary and specialty care health center, is open for appointments. The Health Center accepts most insurance plans, including commercial insurances, several Marketplace/Exchange plans, Medicare and Workers’ Compensation. Call 212.930.7300 for an appointment.

The Artists Health Insurance Resource Center has switched to an online contact system. Fill out a short form at actorsfund.org/AHIRC and a Health Benefits team member will contact you within two business days (Please fill out this form even if you’ve been helped by us before).

Each month’s Health Insurance HQ ([link removed][UNIQID]) provides an update on the health care landscape from the expert team at The Actors Fund’s Artists Health Insurance Resource Center. This month, learn tips for Medicare fall Open Enrollment.

** Housing

The Actors Fund operates several affordable housing residences across the country, and also offers resources to help you learn more about affordable housing opportunities and other housing-related issues you may encounter.

The waitlist to live at The Dorothy Ross Friedman Residence is shorter than ever. Learn more about eligibility and how to apply ([link removed][UNIQID]) for low-income, shared housing in the heart of Manhattan.

Housing stability is a central concern during this pandemic and many are in a precarious housing situation. The Actors Fund has partnered with Housing Court Answers to present a one-time webinar on Navigating Housing Court, Evictions and Tenant Rights During COVID ([link removed][UNIQID]) .

** Social Services

With respect and understanding, our professional social workers offer our community help to address a wide array of challenges via online and phone counseling and support groups, education and practical help—completely free of charge.
