Statement by President George W. Bush on Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Ruth Bader Ginsburg
"Laura and I join our fellow Americans in mourning the loss of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She dedicated many of her 87 remarkable years to the pursuit of justice and equality, and she inspired more than one generation of women and girls. Justice Ginsburg loved our country and the law. Laura and I are fortunate to have known this smart and humorous trailblazer, and we send our condolences to the Ginsburg family."

Forum on Leadership: America at Its Best
Last night, the Bush Institute held the third Annual Forum on Leadership, a landmark gathering to develop, recognize, and celebrate leadership. This year's Forum on Leadership highlighted those that showcase America at its best:
* Wendy Kopp , Founder of Teach for America and CEO and Co-Founder of Teach for All, received the 2020 George W. Bush Medal for Distinguished Leadership. She was introduced by President Bush and joined in conversation by Holly Kuzmich, Executive Director of the Bush Institute
* Liberty in North Korea received the Bush Institute Citation, presented to President and CEO Hannah Song and introduced by Lindsay Lloyd, the Bradford M. Freeman Director of the Human Freedom Initiative at the Bush Center
* Michael Sorrell, President of Paul Quinn College , received the Trailblazer Citation after an introduction by Mrs. Bush

UPCOMING | Transitions to First-Term and Second-Term Administrations
On Oct. 2, the Center for Presidential Transition is hosting Talking Transitions with the George & Barbara Bush Foundation, Clinton Presidential Center, Bush Center, Obama Foundation, and University of Virginia’s Miller Center. At this nonpartisan, virtual event, former White House chiefs of staff, Cabinet secretaries, and senior officials will discuss the importance of presidential transitions to first-term and second-term administrations.
