Dear John,
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, access to health insurance is an urgent concern facing the performing arts and entertainment community. Over the next several months, thousands of individuals will lose their union health insurance—and we have a short window of time to address this problem.
At The Actors Fund, we have launched our Stability & Resiliency Campaign to ensure that we can help as many people as possible. Please make a generous gift today to support this vital program and all our critical resources.
This year The Actors Fund has received a record number of requests for assistance. In the last six months, over 1,000 entertainment and performing arts professionals have received health insurance counseling through The Actors Fund. These counseling sessions have saved clients over $26,000 in insurance premiums and prescription drug costs.
Your generosity has made such a difference, but musicians, actors, dancers, members of technical and production crews, and so many others are still out of work and facing enormous hardship. This health insurance challenge is just the latest in a long list of obstacles that our community has faced this year.
We are counting on you to step up today to help the many individuals who are still in desperate straits. Our performing arts family is resilient, but they need a safety net when they have nowhere else to turn. They need The Actors Fund—and we need you.
Thank you for all that you do, Renata Marinaro National Director of Health Services
