National Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15th - Oct.15th) honors the achievements, contributions, culture, and history of Hispanic and Latinx American people. The month-long celebration began on September 15 commemorating the anniversary of independence for five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
National Hispanic Heritage Month is an excellent time to explore the rich history and culture of Hispanic and Latinx people as well as the societal bias the community faces.
ADL’s Mid-Atlantic/Midwest Division invites you to join this interactive webinar for educators to discuss resources for Hispanic Heritage Month and all year round. We will be joined by high school student leaders who are part of the Hispanic or Latinx communities to discuss the challenges Hispanic and Latinx students face in school. This webinar will be held on Wednesday, October 7th at 12:00 PM ET (11:00 AM CT).
