Tomorrow, Donald Trump announces his pick to fill Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Supreme Court seat.

No matter who he chooses, we know a few things:

1. They will prioritize rolling back any protections on a woman’s right to choose.
2. They will support Donald Trump’s agenda.
3. Senate Republicans will move fast to confirm them, even against their own precedent they set in 2016.

Most importantly: We know that in Donald Trump’s mind, adding a 9th justice that will tip the balance of the court means it may tip the balance of an election he’s been contesting all year. In fact, this is what he said just earlier this week:

“With the unsolicited millions of ballots that they're sending, it's a scam; it's a hoax. Everybody knows that. And the Democrats know it better than anybody else. So you're going to need nine justices up there. I think it's going to be very important. Because what they're doing is a hoax, with the ballots.”
