Hey John,

Like many of you, I am still outraged and devastated by the news of
Breonna Taylor’s case.

The fact that not a single police officer will be charged for the murder
of Breonna Taylor is a grave injustice.

Lots of folks have been asking how this even happened. How is it even
possible that a police officer can break into someone’s apartment, shoot
someone asleep in their room, and get away with no accountability? So I
want to have a frank conversation about who exactly failed Breonna Taylor.

When the police first launched an investigation into Breonna’s death —
this case was brought to Louisville District Attorney Tom Wine, a
Democrat. He had the opportunity to lead the charge to bring justice for
Breonna.

Instead, Tom Wine recused himself and handed the case to a Republican
Trump supporter — Attorney General Daniel Cameron. Not upsetting his
pro-police donors was a bigger priority for Tom Wine. Yes Daniel Cameron
failed us. But Tom Wine let that happen.

[ [link removed] ]Tom Wine was elected the District Attorney of Louisville to bring
justice for the people. He failed. So now, we’re demanding his immediate
resignation. Will you sign our emergency petition calling on DA Tom Wine

Breonna Taylor’s life mattered.

I will not stop fighting until we hold every police officer involved
accountable and bring justice to Breonna’s family.

It’s also so critical that we directly name the folks who helped make this
nightmare happen. We need to call out the racist systems that led to this
exact moment.

We’re not seeing Tom Wine’s name enough in the news. Let’s change that.
