**A CLOSER LOOK**-Vaccines

The California State Assembly approved legislation to cut down on
medical exemptions for vaccinations in a surprise vote this Tuesday. A
Health Affairs journal article in September 2018 showed that California
had
already
seen a
decline in vaccine exemptions since implementing its 2014 policy
mandating health provider counseling for parents seeking exemptions when
enrolling their children in kindergarten.
