Yesterday, I joined my friend Nancy Goroff in support of her race against Lee Zeldin in NY-01.

I’ve always been impressed by my conversations with Nancy, but hearing her interact with her future constituents and address their concerns has me fired up -- and I’m ready to do whatever it takes to make sure Nancy becomes one of my newest colleagues in the House.

The past few weeks have underscored the importance of electing leaders committed to facts, reason, and science -- and I know that Nancy Goroff will use her background as a problem solver and scientist to inform the actions she takes when working on policies.

Donald Trump has deceived the American people time and time again. He downplayed the severity of the pandemic and said that the planet would begin “cooling” soon in response to scientists expressing their concerns about the climate crisis.

Through it all, Lee Zeldin has remained steadfast in his support of those lies -- and if anyone can stop one of Trump’s most ardent supporters, trust me, it’s Nancy Goroff. But we need you with us to defeat Zeldin and his far-right, self-serving politics.

After yesterday’s event, I connected with Nancy’s team to see what I could do to support them ahead of their FEC deadline on September 30. They told me they still have quite the gap in their digital fundraising goal. Nancy needs to raise $20,500 more online before Saturday night.
