Dear John,

When Iowans first elected me to the United States Senate, I made a
commitment to keep in touch. One way I do that is meeting with Iowans in
every county, every year.

From Dubuque to Sioux City, I took advantage of the congressional work
period in August to meet with Iowans across the state. For the 39th year

in a row, I completed my annual pilgrimage to each of Iowa's 99 counties
to hear directly from you. Already, I look forward to starting my 40th
consecutive year of county meetings in January.

While I was home in August, the Democratic presidential candidates
swarming across Iowa magnify just what's at stake. Your support is more
important than ever. We cannot take our strong economy, lower taxes and
Republican principles for limited government and free enterprise for
granted. That's why I'm working alongside grassroots activists

like you to keep the Republican majority in the Iowa statehouse and to
help re-elect Senator Joni Ernst and President Donald Trump

in 2020.

In the months ahead, Congress has a full plate of judicial nominations,
spending bills and policy legislation. This fall, I'll continue
advancing two top priorities Iowans brought up at nearly every county
meeting.

✅ Health care and prescription drug prices

✅ United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) and trade

As chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, I'm working to get
bipartisan drug pricing legislation and the USMCA across the finish
line.

I'm also working to make sure the federal government keeps its
commitments to the American people. That includes ensuring the EPA
implements biofuels policy according to federal law and the Army Corps
of Engineers keeps its word to flooded communities in Iowa.
