I wouldn’t be alive without friends like you. Please help more farm animals get the care we need to survive by making your Giving Day gift today.

October 2 is Farm Sanctuary’s Annual Giving Day.

Dear John,

I would not be alive today without compassionate friends like you.

You see, I was born at a petting zoo. I was the runt of my litter and developed a host of medical problems that went undiagnosed and untreated. By the time a good Samaritan noticed me huddled in the corner of my barn, I was on the brink of death. In fact, when she asked the owner of the petting zoo if she could take me with her, he said she could “go ahead” because I was going to die anyway!

Thankfully, this caring human took me to the one place that could save my life: Farm Sanctuary!

As soon as I arrived at Farm Sanctuary, the experienced caregiving team got right to work. Collaborating with their veterinarians, they determined that I was severely malnourished, weak from parasites, having a hard time breathing due to severe pneumonia, and had a serious urinary tract condition (ouch!). But after a few weeks of antibiotics and loving care, I was strong enough to have surgery to fix my urinary tract and begin the final stage of my recovery.

Today, I am healthy, happy, and full of life. And given how my life began, every day here in the peace and comfort of Farm Sanctuary’s New York shelter feels like a gift—a gift from kindhearted friends like you!

Here I am enjoying my new life.

John, friends like you have already done so much for me, and I am truly grateful for the love and support! But I hope you won’t mind me asking you to do something for me.

October 2 is World Farm Animals Day. It is also Farm Sanctuary’s annual Giving Day—and they have set a goal of raising enough funds to provide 300,000 meals for all of the animals lucky enough to call this place home.

Will you join Farm Sanctuary with an early Giving Day donation today to help care for abused and neglected farm animals?

While a pig like me eats a lot of food, you’ll be amazed at how far your Giving Day support can go. For example, your gift of $31 can feed four chickens for an entire month. A gift of $55 can feed another pig like me for one month. Or, your especially generous gift of $63 can provide a month’s worth of meals for the special needs sheep flock at our New York shelter.

Of course, your kindhearted gift will provide a lot more than just good meals!

It is your generosity that allows Farm Sanctuary to rescue farm animals from cruelty, provide us with a lifetime of care, educate people about how special we are, and speak out against the kind of abuse and neglect experienced in America’s farming industry.

Right now, millions of pigs and other farm animals are suffering in factory farms, stockyards, slaughterhouses, and even petting zoos.

That’s why Farm Sanctuary is hoping to make this World Farm Animals Day a day of global giving for farm animals. But October 2 is just one week away, so I really need your help today to make our Giving Day a success.

Please join right now. Your gift will help Farm Sanctuary provide 300,000 meals to shelter residents like me and continue all of its lifesaving work for farm animals. When you become a Farm Sanctuary member, you will receive great benefits including a free subscription to our member magazine, opportunities to sign petitions and speak out for farm animals like me, special alerts with breaking news about legislation regarding farm animals, updates on urgent rescues, and more.

Thank you, in advance, for your support and for making sure we never again have to experience the pain and fear of an empty belly.

With love,

George Pig
Shelter Resident

P.S. In addition to joining Farm Sanctuary, you can also help us celebrate World Farm Animals Day by refraining from eating or wearing animal products on October 2 (and every day!)—and encouraging your loved ones to do the same. Thank you!
