Welcome to Friday, September 25th, outlets and inlets...
Will he or won't he?
President Donald Trump refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power should he lose the November election to Democratic challenger Joe Biden.
Trump continues to claim, without evidence, that mail-in ballots will result in a "rigged election" and widespread voter fraud.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) swiftly condemned Trump's remarks, tweeting, "This is how democracy dies."

A number of high-profile Republicans also condemned Trump's refusal to commit to peaceful transfer of power, with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) tweeting:
"The winner of the November 3rd election will be inaugurated on January 20th. There will be an orderly transition just as there has been every four years since 1792."

** Fill Vacancy, Lose Filibuster

In the wake of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death ([link removed]) , Democrats are warning that they will eliminate the legislative filibuster if President Trump ([link removed]) and Republicans move ahead with filling the vacancy ([link removed]) before the end of the year and Democrats win the majority.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) spoke to a call of congressional Democrats over the weekend and said:
"Let me be clear: if Leader McConnell and Senate Republicans move forward with this, then nothing is off the table for next year. Nothing is off the table.”

** GOP Report: Hunter Biden’s Burisma Ties ‘Very Awkward’
------------------------------------------------------------
Homeland Security and Government Affairs Chairman Ron Johnson (R-WI) and Finance Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) on Wednesday released an 87-page report into potential conflicts of interest arising from Hunter Biden receiving millions of dollars from Ukrainian energy company Burisma.
Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine occurred while his father, former Vice President Joe Biden, was serving as the Obama administration’s “point person” for Ukraine.
In early 2015, former Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, George Kent raised concerns that:
"The presence of Hunter Biden on the Burisma board was very awkward for all U.S. officials pushing an anticorruption agenda in Ukraine."
