Hi John,
Welcome to my latest campaign update.
It’s been a busy last few weeks with my 32 street corner meetings,
our Leader Judith Collins visiting Waimakariri to launch my campaign
and the official launch of the National Party’s 2020 online Campaign
on the weekend.
A number of people turned out to my 32 street corner meetings
recently, which I held all over the electorate. The feedback was
positive and it feels like there has been a shift on the ground over
the last few weeks as frustration grows about the government.
It was an honour to have our leader Judith Collins visit
Waimakariri to launch my campaign in the first week of September. With
Covid-19 restrictions we had to limit the campaign launch to less than
100 people, which unfortunately resulted in not being able to
accommodate everyone who wanted to attend as we could have easily
filled the room with 300-400 people!
Over the weekend, Waimakariri National Party members, supporters
and volunteers gath-ered at the Rangiora RSA to watch the National
Party’s 2020 online Campaign Launch which was being filmed in Avalon
studios in Wellington. The Waimakariri electorate was one of only 6
electorates that were chosen to be filmed for a live cross from our
local campaign watch party. It was lovely to see so many at the RSA
and a live cross to the National Party campaign launch looked very
lively and energetic on the big screen. We did ourselves proud!
I am very humbled by the support I have received to date, the
countless hours of our local volunteers and the donations to our local
branch to run the campaign. Please join me as I fight hard for
Waimakariri as only a National Government will back Canterbury!
Early voting opens on 3 October
and Election Day is on Saturday 17 October
